Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 20 days old | 3.31 lbs

my 7 week old puppy swallowed something that seemed to bother his breathing and he couldn't throw it up. his stomach seemed like he had the hiccups but a fee minutes later it stopped bothering so he was eating and drinking water and also sleeping so i want to know if i should take him to the vet to see if something dangerous is inside or should i just wait?

If Theo is now breathing fine, no vomiting or diarrhoea occours and he is playful as usual I wouldn't take him straight to the vet but continue monitoring. But if he is lethargic, reluctant to eat, having vomiting or diarrhoea I would take him straight to your local veterinarian for a check up and possibly sone X-ray to exclude an intestinal foreign body.
