My stray cat has bloody diarrhea and stomach issues. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My cat is a manx. I think he is 9 months but not for sure. I pick him up off of the streets and do not know what shot or vaccines he has had. He has had blood and diarrhea in his poop. Whenever I pick him up his stomach like lurches.

Hemorrhagic diarrhoea must be resolved first before injecting any type of vaccine. Different are the possible causes of it, starting from dietary related ones, gastrointestinal parasites or generic viral/bacterial infection. Standard vaccinations are against Leukemia Virus (FeLV), Rhinotracheitis (Herpes virus), Calicivirus, Parvovirus (RCP).
