Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Male | neutered | 1 year and 7 months old | 27 lbs
My dog throws up almost every time he drinks water and at least once per day after eating. We thought it was the amount of water and how fast he drank it. However, we don't allow him to drink fast and we lower the amount of water and he is still throwing up. Concerning the food, it's with almost everything he eats. We may think maybe it's because he is a nervous dog. Any help or advice out there? Is there something we can do to avoid he throws up every day?

This is concerning and it doesn't seem to be your run of the mill upset stomach issue. Some possible causes of this are: megaesophagus, intestinal obstruction, narrowing of the certain parts of his GI tract, or even a kidney issue may be the cause. He needs to have some testing to determine what the cause is, so that the right treatment is recommended to get him well again. At the very least, the vet can prescribe anti-vomit medication to stop his vomiting and prevent any detrimental dehydration from developing. Poor guy, he must feel awful not to be able to keep anything down. However once you visit your vet, you will be able to treat him appropriately. I would recommend fasting him for now to prevent excessive vomiting and further dehydration until you can get him seen. If you cannot get him seen for more than 12 hrs, then only offer small amounts of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese and unflavored Pedialyte. You can also try slightly warmed cans of baby food if the chicken is not tolerated.
