Hello, My Pit Rotti Max has a red crusty bump on his side . It doesn't seem to be causing him pain at all. We removed the hair over and around the bump , cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide and put a triple antibiotic on the lesion . Do you have an idea of what it could be, should I keep putting ointment on it , and should I take him to the vet ? Thanks, Rebecca

It could be a bacterial skin infection. You could continue to apply the antibiotic ointment but if it does not resolve than he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat the problem. He may need an oral antibiotic and corticosteroid to help treat.
