My dog is weak and has a rash after Nexgard. Is it a side effect?

I gave my dogs their first dose of Nexgard two days ago. For dogs 10 to 20 pounds. My Chihuahua was fine after the first day. My Pom mix, who is larger and more energetic is now weak. She is still eating and drinking, but can't get up and walk outside anymore. Also in the last 2 days she seemed to develop a rash on her neck and has scratched the fur away from this area. Please help.

Lethargy and lack of appetite can occassionally be seen in dogs after NexGard but it could be unrelated to the medication. She should be examined by your vet to determine the cause. Your vet can give her some fluids and an anti-inflammatory to make her feel better. Also, discuss with your vet whether you should continue using NexGard next month. Hope she feels better soon!
