My 13lbs shih tzu ate some raisins tonight and seems fine. Should I be watching for anything?

The problem with raisin toxicity is that the amount of them that is needed to cause toxic signs is unknown, and it can take up to one to three days for symptoms to show. Raisin toxicity causes kidney failure, including vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, abdominal pain, tremors, seizures, producing little to no urine, and death. Even small amounts of raisins can be toxic; therefore, it's always recommended to take a dog into the vet for treatment when they eat raisins. I would have Lucky seen by a vet immediately, who can decide a treatment course for him.

I think you meant "raisin" and not "radon". Raisins are very toxic to dogs and may result in severe kidney damage. Mako should absolutely be seen by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER today for an exam and lab work to assess kidney function. Supportive care (IV fluids, anti-emetics, etc.) may also be indicated. The lab work may need to be repeated in several days or weeks to monitor kidney function. https://www.petcoach.co/canigive/dog/raisins

Kidney failure due to raisin intoxication in dogs can start showing symptoms weeks after the initial ingestion, sometimes with very minimal symptoms if at all. some common symptoms include excessive drinking and urination, lack of appetite, vomiting and lethargy. sometimes you will see no symptoms at all though and for this reason i would recommend taking him to the vet in order to have a blood test done, this will rule out kidney failure and put your mind at ease.

You just need to monitor them at home. Signs of raisins toxicity usually become apparent a few days after ingestion and include lethargy, vomiting, lack of appetite, increased thirst. If you see any of these symptoms, you will need to take your dogs back to your local vets. However, once we treat raisins ingestion with emesis and activated charcoal, vast majority of dogs don't get into any problems at ll.
