Pet's info: Dog | Treeing Walker Coonhound | Male | unneutered | 1 year old
Hi there, Last night I picked up a dog from me breeder (who I've had nothing but positive experiences with). She had been returned a dog that was from the same litter as mine and he was in need of a home as she could not keep him.We brought him home and he is extremely gentle and loving. The problem is he is EXTREMELY skinny.threw up on the hour long car ride, which I thought nothing of, but this morning I saw he had thrown up again during the night. Should I be concerned? no signs of pain

Poor Scout! It could be that the car ride made him sick, as dogs can get motion sickness. Then the stress of a new home, on top of previously vomiting made him sick again. Given the circumstances, I would not be concerned just yet, and I can give you a home remedy that may help him. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away.
