It definitely has potential to cause a gastrointestinal infection, or an upset stomach, but dogs tend to handle raw meat better than people. This is because dog's have a lower stomach pH and are adapted to handle infected meat. It's possible that this may cause vomiting and/or diarrhea, but in most cases this is temporary and will resolve within a day or two. Below is a link to an article with great information about vomiting and diarrhea that will help you determine if it is serious or not. https://mobile.petcoach.co/amp/article/diarrhea-vomiting-in-dogs-when-to-call-your-veterinarian I hope that helps and all is well with Winston.

Hello and thank you for your question. Most likely you will notice some stomach upset after eating that much raw beef, such as vomiting and diarrhea. The symptoms should be self-limiting, meaning that he should improve over 24 hours time with a bit of TLC. If he does vomit once, I would start by taking away his food for about 8 hours. From there, offer small, frequent amounts of a bland easily digestible diet such as boiled chicken and plain white rice. One tbsp every 2 hours should be sufficient. Small frequent meals of water would also be advised. If his vomiting continues during the 8 hour fast, you will need to take him to the vet for further treatment for dehydration and possible bacterial contamination from eating raw meat. Hopefully just the fasting and small frequent meals will be enough to get him over this hump though. I hope this helps, and that Winston does well!
