Dachshund has red itchy skin & sores. What to do until vet visit?

I am looking for advice for my dachshund. He has red itchy skin on his abdomen. He is scratching and biting at himself so badly he has sores on his penis. I have tried specialty shampoos, vitamins, and coconut oil. I know he's miserable. I can't get him into our vet for 2 weeks. Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | neutered | 5 years and 5 months old | 18 lbs

Continue the baths with a medicated shampoo once to twice a week. His skin does seem infected with possible bacterial and yeast. Your vet can check his thyroid to make sure that is not low as that can make infections worse You can try to keep neosporin or cortisone cream in the bad spots to provide some relief.
