My dog hurt his back leg last night is there anything that I can give him to help with his discomfort can I give him an anti-inflammatory of any kind

Hi there! I'm afraid there are no human over-the-counter pain medications that are safe for use in dogs - so if you think he's in pain, I would recommend taking him to the vet for an exam. Your veterinarian can prescribe a safe and effective pain medication for him if needed. In the meantime, the best thing to do at home is keep him calm and quiet so that he doesn't injure the leg further. Make sure that he has a soft padded bed to lay on, and don't allow any running or jumping. You can try holding a warm compress on the affected area if you can tell what part of the leg is hurting him, as this can sometimes help with muscle pain and soreness.
