My cat is pregnant. Can she get her shots without harming kittens?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | 2 years and 6 months old | 8 lbs

So about 3 weeks ago my cat started her first round of shots. Lately I've noticed that her nipples are bigger then normal and we're afraid that she could be pregnant. She going to get her second round of shots and I'm wondering if she does get her shots if it will affect her babies.

Ideally diagnosis of pregnancy should be performed before vaccinating as some of them could potentially affect the kittens. If your cat is already vaccinated will pass part of the immunity through the colostrum. Please ask your veterinarian to confirm diagnosis first. Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
