Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Female | spayed | 9 years and 9 months old | 11 lbs

I think my cat may have conjunctivitis, does she need to see a vet or is it safe for me to go to the local drug store?

A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops specifically designed for dogs (on prescription). Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well, and this is probably the most important reason for her being checked.
