Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 10 lbs
My cat has bald patches of hair on her sides and the top of her tail. The top of her hair patch has little red bumps. I switched food but and the hairdos slightly coming back. But it still looks really bad. What should I do?

Poor Mandy! It's possible that part of her problem could be related to food allergies, which is why you saw a little improvement when you changed her diet, but there are many other skin conditions that can also cause hair loss with red bumps like this. Some common possibilities would be fleas, environmental allergies, or a bacterial or fungal skin infection. If she isn't already on a good quality flea control medication like Revolution or Advantage Multi, this is the first thing I would suggest. If you're positive she doesn't have fleas, then I would recommend having her examined by a vet as soon as you are able to - he/she can do some simple skin tests if needed to help determine the problem and get her started on appropriate medication to treat it.
