My dog has a recurring black crusty rash on his hind leg. What now?

my dog has a rash on the hind leg and the crust on it is black, this is the second time i seen this and it is too late to take him to the vet tonight any help? Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | neutered | 11 lbs

It sounds like he could have a skin infection. You could bathe him with a medicated dog shampoo and see if that helps. Otherwise, have your vet take a look at him to diagnose and treat. He may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, and/or corticosteroid to help.
