My dog has small pimple-like lumps on his skin. Should I see a vet?

My 10 year old yorkie has pimple like spots. One on the top of his head and one on the back of his neck. I have tried squeezing them but nothing comes of it. They are very small lumps. Is it something that should be checked out? Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 9 years and 10 months old | 9 lbs

Ideally yes they should be checked by your veterinarian. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). Differentials include skin cysts, infections, benign or more sinister type of tumors.
