My dog's first heat is lasting over a month. Is this normal?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | 2 years and 8 months old | 49 lbs

My dog is 3years old and she started her first heat over a month ago and I was wondering when will it stop

It is not normal for a dog to not have a heat cycle until 3 years. It is also not normal for a heat cycle to last a month. I would be concerned about an infection in the uterus. This could potentially be life threatening and I would urge you to take Roxy to your veterinarian as soon as possible.

    Usually they have a heat cycle every 6 months starting around 6-8 months of age. A. Or am heat cycle will last about 3 weeks. If she is still having a heat cycle after a month, that can be an indication there is an infection or something else going on. I would have her checked to see what it is and see if she can be spayed to prevent further problems
