Benadryl not helping my dog's allergic reaction. Should I see a vet?

Question

My boston terrier is having an allergic reaction, she has had them before. Generally I bring her to the vet, however the last time I brought her they told be to treat her with Benadryl rather then bringing her in each time. She has been if experiencing this reaction since 3:30 yesterday and I have been administering 25mg of Benadryl every 8 hours. How long can I continue to give her Benadryl? Should I bring her to the vet? Pet's info: Dog | Border Terrier | Female | spayed | 5 years and 7 months old | 25 lbs

If she has not responded to the Benadryl at this point, it is unlikely that she will and she may require stronger medications for it such as a corticosteroid. I do recommend that you have Maci evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night!
