My young dog has a white spot on his eye. Is it normal or concerning?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd - miniature | Male | neutered | 1 year and 7 months old | 131 lbs

Noticed my dog has a white spot on his eye. Can’t remember if it’s always been there or not. Should we get it checked? He’s bot even two years old yet.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I do not see anything concerning at least on these pictures. The white part that he has in these pictures would be considered normal. If there is any excessive blinking, discharge or redness, have him evaluated by your veterinarian. Otherwise, he is likely going to be just fine. Good luck and have a good night!
