My cat has worsening mats. Do I need a vet or can a groomer help?

My cat had a few matted spots a week ago and it seems like it’s getting worse. Can I take her to a groomer or should I go to a vet

If you think the skin underneath the mats looks normal and Nugget does not have any underlying medical problems you should be fine going to a groomer. I would not recommend trying to remove mats yourself with scissors - it’s very easy to accidentally cut skin.
