My dog destroys things when alone. How to stop separation anxiety?

Hi, I have a pug that is one year old . He has separation anxoety. He follows me everywhere i gon in the house , he won t even stay alone in another room he wants to make sure he sees me. I got a crate cause he is destrying the floors and the doors and he now has to stay alone up to 8 hours. What can I do? Thank you! Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 4 months old | 30 lbs

Leave a TV or white noise machine on and give him something familiar such as shirt or blanket to have in the kennel while you are away. You can dry pheromone diffusers to help and leave a kong toy with some food and treats hidden to give him something to do. If these do not help, ask your vet about prescription medicine to help with anxiety
