My cat Stormy was having small seizures for a month after i put Sergeant's flea and tick topical treatment on him and would bite himself til he bled but the seizures went away late December and his wounds healed, but today he had one after a month went by. I haven't the money right now to get him to a vet, so I'm wondering if he might have anymore, or if the seizures could be caused by something else? He never had seizures before the flea meds, but it wore off a month ago...Please advise thanks

Poor stormy. It is possible that the flea medicine has cause seizures and residual seizures, but more likely something else may be causing the seizure he. If she is young to middle age, it could be due to just epilepsy or an inner ear infection. If she is older, I would be concerned about a possible brain tumor. He may continue to have seizures or he may stop. If he is just having small seizures once a month, chances are the vet won’t start him on anti-seizure medicine. I would start a seizure log stating the dates of the seizures and how long the seizure activity last. If you start noticing that they become more frequent or longer then I would be sure to let your vet know. When you can, I would also make sure your vet checks her blood work to ensure all of her electrolytes are normal. I hope this helps!
