My puppy has scabs after flea treatment. Are they normal or serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Australian Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 5 days old | 11 lbs

My puppy had fleas, we treated him last night but he has these scabs on him now that’s I’m just noticing. How can i be sure it’s from fleas rather than something else that he may need to be seen for ? He’s very fluffy & doesn’t like to sit still & whines when i try to touch them.

It's probably related to the fleas if had some, you need to weight about 2-3 weeks from the flea treatment, by then it should resolve. if it doesn't then it is probably something else that will need to be checked by your vet.
