My dog has bloody urine. Is it an emergency or can I wait for the vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 9 lbs

My dog has blood in her urine on the pad. Should I take her to 24 hr vet or can I wait til morning. She’s had one UTI about a year ago and crystals. She’s 8 year. On Hills urinary food

Hi. It can wait until the morning. It is most likely a UTI again, but it needs to be confirmed. They should probly take an xray of the bladder as well to rule out bladder stones as that is another possibility of something that can cause blood in the urine. Good luck

    Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Grace! Causes of blood in the urine are: bacterial urinary tract infection, crystals in the urine, bladder stones, tumor or clotting/platelet issue or hemoglobin in the urine. I am sure Grace can wait until tomorrow to see your vet. If she is very uncomfortable then I would consider taking her to an Emergency hospital so medications can be started sooner to provide her relief. I hope this helps and I wish Grace the very best!
