My cat's eye is red and swollen after a toy wire. What should I do?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 3 days old

My 5 month old cat had a very sharp wire from a cat toy stuck in his eye we managed to get it out now it's very swollen and red should I be concerned? He seems ok in himself still eating playing etc

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Toby to make sure he does not have any serious trauma to the cornea of the eye that may need to be addressed. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. The sooner you have the eye looked at the better so that any abnormalities can be addressed sooner rather than later.
