My new kitten is hiding in her new home. How can I make her feel safe?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hello, I adopted my kitten last Friday, as soon as I got her home and let her out of her carrier she ran around for about 10 min smelling things, then I left her to check things out in her new home and went out to my car for something and came back, mind you this was last fri, today was the first time I seen her again, we searched everywhere plus I was checking to see if she would come out to eat or use the litter box, but nothing till today

I would recommend keeping her in a small room for the first week or two. This allows her to feel safer in a small environment, as well as allows you to be able to see and bond with her. After a week or two you can start allowing her to have more freedom in the house. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
