Why is my dog peeing inside, throwing up, and acting lethargic?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 4 years and 7 months old | 110 lbs

My dog is peeing in the house out of no where and only wants to lay on the couch. He's now throwing up and leaving feces in the house every few days. Nothing has changed in his diet. He's a very active dog. Do I have anything to worry about? It has been going on for about 2 months off and on but now it's a lot more frequent

Innapropriate elimination, continual vomiting and lethargy are all indications of a problem. These issues are not specific to any one disease, but could indicate a metabolic disease like diabetes, or a condition like Kidney failure. It's best to have a vet examine him sometime soon. Usually, we can narrow-down the problem with a thorough physical exam and a good history of the issues. The sooner the problem is discovered, the easier it will be to treat it and prevent it from getting worse. I hope that helps and Big Fatty gets better soon.
