Parvovirus is a highly contagious and deadly virus. There is an 80% survival rate if your pet is treated via hospitalization through your veterinarian and around a 40-60% survival if your pet is treated with medications outpatient (given by your vet during daily examinations, but then your pet is sent home for at home care). The virus itself isn’t treatable, so supportive care is the main focus on getting pets to survive this deadly disease, which mainly consists of anti-nausea medication, vitamin supplements, pain medication antibioitcs and fluid therapy. I hope this helps and if your pet does have parvo I surely hope he is a survivor. Here is a website link with financial reosurces as well, if needed to help you afford treatment for Simba. http://m.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/trouble_affording_veterinary_care.html Best wishes and take care.
