Hi there, and thank you for posting this question. I think it’s awesome that you want to put such effort into feeding quality off to your kitty. I do have concerns with a raw diet, mostly due to infections. Some animals will eat raw their whole lives and be fine, and some will get sick with things like salmonella and E. Coli. While I worry about the animal getting sick, I also really worry about the family as well. The latest study shows that 80%of people who feed their animals raw diet are colonized with salmonella or E.coli. So there is a pretty high human health risk. Would you consider cooking a diet for your kitty? You can have all the same benefits and less of the risk. I also really like the website Balanceit.com You can enter what you are feeding and they will let you know what vitamins/minerals you may be missing for a balanced diet. I think you will enjoy preparing meals for your kitty, and ultimately the decision about raw is yours. However, I would encourage you to consider a healthy home cooked diet for your and your kitty’s safety. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
