Why does my ferret bite? How can I stop him for my child's safety?

I just bought a male ferret, he is 1 year old. I'm not sure why but he will not stop biting things. What is the reason and how do I stop it so my daughter can play with him?

Hi, There is no easy solution to this. Some ferrets are just like that. They especially like to bite exposed areas of skin in places like between the finger and thumb etc. You could try training them using e.g. a loud noise or a repellent smell when they bite, but there are no guarantees it will work. You could also try working with a professional trainer and see if that helps.
