My dog has an ear hematoma. Can wrapping help swelling before the vet?

I think he has a hematoma from scratching his ear. Would wrapping an ace wrap around my dogs head/ear help with the swelling untell I can take him in? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 5 years and 10 months old | 83 lbs

No, a hematoma is a blood clot that has formed due to shaking and scratching. usually secondary to an ear infection or an allergy. You can try to clean the ear to loosen up any discharge or was that may be irritating him. A wrap is usually after it is drained but will not due much for the currently swelling.
