My puppy won't eat and has smelly penis discharge after vet. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | 4 months and 5 days old | 4 lbs

My dog didn't eat food yesterday so I took him to the vet for checkup. He gave some injection and hunger syrup. Today he again didn't eat food.. I just noticed some wierd smelly discharge from his penis today. What can this be?

The discharge from the penis may just be because he isn’t feeling well and not grooming himself as well as he usually does. Male dogs usually have a small amount of yellowish discharge that they usually clean up themselves. The not eating is what worries me most. I would encourage you to take him back for a follow up appointment. I start to worry about things like a Viral infection, oral pain, or many other problems as puppies usually eat well. They may recommend blood work to help determine the diagnosis. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
