My dog has food allergies and itchy, flaky skin. How to help?

Hello, my dog has food allergies (cannot eat any meat and has a diet of veg and fish) he has very itchy flakey almost like dandruff skin. What is it and how can I help him. Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 10 years and 1 month old

You can try a few things for Benji. You did not mention what you are feeding but there are a couple diets that are geared toward dogs with food allergy. Royal Canin and Nutro both carry several different lines of food and they have additional fatty acids added to all the diets. You can also try supplementing with daily fatty acids (make sure to get a brand labeled for pets and not people). Lastly, use an oatmeal based shampoo and conditioner for dogs.
