Hello, cats indeed may get something similar to a cold and is more consistent with an upper respiratory tract infection. Most cat URIs are due to herpes, calicivirus, or chlamydia. Most often, herpes is the underlying cause of URIs in cats. Usually URIs are self limiting and resolve on their own within 5-7 days. Occasionally, cats may become more ill from their URIs and will require additional care with medications. If Luna loses her appetite and becomes lethargic then she should be evaluated by her veterinarian. Hope this helps and best of luck.
