My dog's neuter incision won't heal. Should I take him to the vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 2 months old

Panda is 19 days post neutering he had stitches out 3 days ago he has a small wound where the incision was done which is yet to heal vet said keep e collar on for 48 hr so he leaves it alone still not healed and he still wants to worry it I put electromicyn spray and imflamol on it but am concerned with the time he is taking to heal up he did get at stitch and chewed cord should I take back to vet and see if they can see why its taking so long to heal or just keep trying to treat

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Panda! Can you post a picture of the incision? Sometimes there are minor complications to any surgery and incisions sometimes need more time to heal. If Panda is licking or bothering the incision that can cause delays too. If your Vet expected it to heal 2 days after the sutures were removed and it hasn't then I would recommend that you have the incision rechecked. Keep the E-collar on until then.     The incision has delayed healing due to it opening up early in the healing process. While anything is possible, I suspect the incision will be fully healed in another 5 to 7 days. Make sure to keep your recheck appointment, keep the collar on at all times and prevent any further trauma which would cause a further delay. Best of luck.
