My 9-year-old dog's heat is long, bleeding heavily, and she's sore.

My 9 year old staff has been on heat for just over 3 weeks and has been losing more blood than usual. She seems to be walking carefully as if she's sore

Poor girl. I would have her seen by your vet to ensure she doesn't have any complications associated with her heat cycle, such as an underlying bleeding disorder, ovarian mass/tumor, etc. Its best to get her checked and get her started on anti-infalmmatory to help with her soreness and bleeding.
