Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female
I have a litter of 7 pups ( non pedigree German shepherds) and the mother isn't vaccinated whatsoever. Should I be worried ? Pups are 15 days old. And I'm planning to get them vaccinated at the age of 6 weeks .. Can I do it earlier? What vaccine should I use ? .. I can administer vaccines my self .. Have done it in the past but never to puppies this young.

Even though the mom isn’t current on vaccines she still should have some antibodies from when she was vaccinated as a younger pup. So she has passed on some immunity to her pups and therefore the puppies won’t be able to form a proper immune response to vaccinations until they are at least 6 weeks of age. I would suggest vaccinating them at that time. They will need to keep receiving vaccine boosters every 3-4 weeks until they are around 14-16 weeks of age. Keep them indoors until then and away from other non-vaccinated pets. I also would not vaccinate Mom until the pups have been completely weaned off of her. Best of luck with the puppies. Take care.
