Is diffusing essential oils safe for cats? Which oils are okay?

Hello, I want to buy and essential oils diffuser but am worried that diffusing the oils will be harmful to my cats. Can you please tell me which oils are safe to diffuse around my cats and which are not? The cats will not be able to touch the diffuser but it will be in the main living room of our two bedroom apartment.
