My dog has fleas, and I've tried everything. What really works?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Poodle | Male | unneutered | 20 lbs

I was wondering what type of flea remover I could use on my dog. He is a 17-20lb dog he is 2.5 years old. I have tried everything. Collar. Frontline. Shampoo. Collar. And at home vinegar treatment. And nothing is making the fleas disappear. Makes me sad to see my dog scratching like that. Please help me

Hi, I know you must be frustrated. Don't worry, we will kill the fleas. The best option for your pet is Comfortis (Spinosad) which kills and prevents fleas for a month. Remember though you must administer the medication every month in order to prevent reinfestation. In order to completely eliminate the problem, you will need to have your house and yard treated. Also, even if you don't see fleas on your other pets prevention is warranted in order to prevent infestations.
