Oliver was prescribed half a pill of Zyrtec a day by his vet for allergies. He is having a flare up right now and is extremely itchy and rubbing his eyes. Can I give him children's benadrlyn with the Zyrtec? I was told by a friend in vet school to try children's Benadryl. She said it works well for her dogs. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 10 months old

I would give your vet a call, and they can advise you if it's safe to give Oliver a benadryl or not. They can also give you the correct dose for his weight.
