Pet's info: Dog | Tibetan Spaniel | Male | neutered | 8 years and 8 months old | 13 lbs
My dog hasn't been eating much for a day or two and hasn't gone outside to use the bathroom in almost 24 hours. I've tried everything. He's not vomiting and is drinking some water. Thank you

There are so many things that can cause these vague signs. Back pain, intestinal pain, infection, kidney disease, anemia, etc. You may want to comb the yard and look for anything he could have gotten into. I would also take his temperature to see if he has a fever. A normal temp variant is between about 100 and 102F. Also look in the mouth to see if there are any sores or anything painful in the mouth. However, if it goes on for 2+ days without improvement I really do think that you should have him evaluated by your veterinarian. Also remember that tomorrow is Friday and many practices are closed over the weekend, so if he isn’t better he will need to go to an emergency clinic. Emergency clinics are usually more expensive than a general practice veterinarian . Best of luck to you and Sashi. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
