Why is my cat's third eyelid red and he has yellow watery diarrhea?

Hi, for the past 2-3 days I noticed my cat nictitating membrane appear suddenly and it quite red and today the cat got diarrhea. Yellow colour watery stool. What's happening actually. I'm worried right now.

Any time you can see a cat's third eyelid, it is generally a sign they do feel well for whatever reason. In your case, it must have been a GI upset to cause the diarrhea. This can be from an infection, parasites or food. I would recommend seeing an emergency clinic since it has started a few days to get some testing done and antibiotics or probiotics to add to the food. They may want to try a sensitive stomach formula food to help until things get back to normal

    It looks like she could have Haw's syndrome which can be caused by inflammation in the cat's intestines. A common reason is parasites (usually tapeworms), so it would be a great idea to deworm your cat with a tapeworm dewormer for cats. Your vet should be able to give you a prescription, if needed. If the problem persists or gets worse then she needs to be examined by a vet. You could also have your vet test a stool sample to make sure she doesn't have additional parasites.
