My dog has multiple, growing lumps on her belly. Are they dangerous?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Toy Poodle | Female | unspayed | 12 years and 1 month old | 11.05 lbs

What is this lump on my dog's belly? We don't know what it is. It has been there since we got her(she was 5 y/o) Is it dangerous? It has been growing little by little every year and she has about 4 now(1 big, 3 small). It used to be just one. She is not in pain and she doesn't react when i rub on the lump gently. What can it be?

If those lumps are associated with her mammary glands (teats) then this can be very serious. It could be cancerous tumors (breast cancer) and that is what they appear to be at first glance. This is very common in female dogs that have not been spayed. Of course it is impossible for me to diagnose over the internet. It is best to get her to your vet for an exam and they can help determine what is going on and how best to treat it. Other options are that they could be cysts or abscesses, I strongly suggest you have her checked as soon as you can before those get larger or spread. Best wishes.
