Why are my cats scratching and scabbing after Frontline Plus?

I have two indoor cats and give flee treatment each month but this month I used Frontline plus as recommended because we moved into a house i feel had fleas previously. the cats have scabs on their necks and scratching a lot. what can this be? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 4 years and 9 months old

This could be secondary to the fleas or a reaction to frontline. You can try Benadryl (see the link below) but I worry that they need to see your vet since there are scabs. This usually indicates that they may need an antibiotic or stronger allergy medicine like some steroids.
