Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 3 years and 7 months old | 82 lbs
I got my female dog when she was a puppy and nearly starved. I started feeding her quite a bit and now I think she's overweight ... how can I help her lose weight? She loves to eat and trying to ignore her when she starts to bother me for another snack is very difficult knowing how she was when I found her.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I applaud you for recognizing that Ellie Mae is overweight! I recommend first significantly decreasing her treats. Raw hides, bully sticks and pig ears a very high in calories. I would then gradually decrease the amount of dry food at each feeding and replace the amount removed with string beans. Consider changing to a weight loss formula with in your brand. Increase exercise. If you are still struggling with her weight discuss a prescription diet with your Vet. I hope this helps and have a great day!
