Why is my guinea pig rarely pooping and having soft, mushy stools?

I have a 6 year old guinea pig. She has been having trouble going to the bathroom. She does eat anything I give her, fruits, veggies, and hay. She does drink water everyday as well. However she rarely poops. And when she does, they are soft and mushy.

I would make sure you are giving her plenty of leafy greens like dandelion greens and parsley. These are also high in vitamin c which they require since they don’t produce any on their own. Good news is that she is eating regularly and acting normal! If this continues I would have your vet take a look at her to make sure everything around her anus looks okay. Your vet will also be able to do a fecal to ensure there aren’t any parasites. I hope this helps!
