My conure is clingy and not eating. Is he sick after a past injury?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | 5 years and 10 months old

My conure is overly clingy, he has never been like this. He has hardly left my side since he came out of his cage this morning. He has hardly eaten today and barely touched his fruit, it’s not normal behaviour for him. He did fly into table few weeks ago, I took him vet, was given pain relief and he picked up after a few days.

Hi and thank you for this question, What you are describing are very general signs of not being well. It could be a disease, something painful, or any other abnormal condition. Knowing what is causing this would require another visit to the vet and likely some lab tests. I wouldn't wait too long with it as these are delicate creatures.
