Shih Tzu puppy has sticky poop after vaccines. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | neutered | 2 months and 21 days old | 14.4 lbs

I have a shih tzu that is almost 12 weeks old. Last saturday Nov 11, I took him to get his 3rd set of vaccines. But saturday night I noticed that he pooped weird. And until right now he has been pooping weird and sticky. What should i do? I changed his diet today for rice and chicken but this was his first poop after he ate that. (He plays and lives inside my house. He also potty’s inside the house too on his pad).

If Jorkey is acting normal and eating well, I would try the chicken and rice for 48hrs. If his stool is not improved or if he begins acting sick at any point, take him into the vet. Sometimes the bacterial balance can get off and medications may be needed to resume the proper balance. I hope this helps!
