If I ha a puppy with distemper, how long do I have to wait to reintroduce a new puppy into my home?

One of the few positive aspects of distemper is that the virus cannot live without fresh secretions; it is inactivated in minutes outside the living host's body. Minimal disinfection is necessary. A recovered dog may shed virus up to 2 to 3 months.
