Why is my allergic dog still scratching after changing his food?

My dog has food allergies we changed his food but recently he’s been inching his body a lot like all night and all day he has scratched so much he’s got into his skin what could this be from

Hello, & thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Just changing foods does not qualify as addressing a food allergy. The food must be specific & directed by your veterinarian. Allergies can also be multifactorial, so King may be sensitive to other things such as fleas, pollen, dust mites, cleaning products, & even cats. If King is scratching to the point of damaging his skin, he needs to be evaluated by your veterinarian. If his allergies are significant, he may also need to be evaluated by a veterinary dermatologist. Hopefully, King will find some relief soon. Take care.
