Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Pinscher | Female | spayed | 7 years old | 12 lbs
Our female dog Wiley has started "humping" my arm several times a night. She has never done this before & the frequency is increasing. I stop her but it keeps happening. Why is she doing this? Should I be concerned? How can I help her to stop?

When a dog humps it is usually either a dominance issue or an excitement issue. If there is nothing exciting going on , such as you grabbing the leash for a walk etc., then she is likely displaying her dominance. Don’t let her do this. You may also want to keep her off the bed/ couch / etc. for a while so she does not have the opportunity to get to your arm. Also make her obey a command before feeding or petting her. All of these will subtly remind her that she is not the boss. I hope this helps! Thanks for using Pet Coach.
